5 Star is an Alaskan woman owned and operated company specializing in innovative approaches and solutions to help our clients plan, implement, and manage public safety information technology and interoperable radio communication systems. The principals, Julie Stinson and Joe Quickel, bring over 50 years of Alaskan experience with government and private sector clients in the public safety, oil and gas, utilities, banking and transportation industries.

Project Management:
Our project managers have been professionally trained in project management skills that are fully supported by the Project Management Institute. Not only is the project managed to be delivered on time and within budget, but we are also experienced in providing executive level presentations to effectively communicate status reporting or final recommendations.
Strategic Planning, Needs Assessments and Implementation:
We assist clients in defining and implementing strategic plans that will achieve their desired business goals and objectives. Likewise, our needs assessments ensure the final recommendations are in alignment with strategic goals while defining the current business needs. Our excellent communication skills enable us to work easily with all levels of personnel and external stakeholders to fully define the functional and technical needs.
Business Process Analysis, Design and Development:
It is critical to review business processes in parallel with any technology implementation to ensure new business processes are clearly defined, implemented and maintained in order to gain the greatest efficiencies. Our training in Business Process Redesign and experience in business process analysis and implementation provides a firm base to assist our clients.
Workshop Development and Facilitation:
Are meetings unproductive? Is each team member’s input heard or just the squeaky wheels? Our objective facilitators can facilitate meetings to produce results from disparate work groups to achieve the desired results and to get them documented in a timely fashion.
